Yildiz joined Juventus on a free transfer from Bayern Munich in 2022, and despite earning relatively modest wages compared to other senior players, he has become a crucial match-winner for the Italian giants since last season. His rapid development has not gone unnoticed.
The Turkish international made his senior debut for Juventus on 20 August 2023, coming off the bench in a 3–0 win against Udinese. Chelsea, the reigning Club World Cup champions, remain keen on the forward after seeing a £61 million bid rejected last summer. New manager Enzo Maresca views Yildiz as an ideal fit for the club’s youth-driven, long-term recruitment strategy. The Blues also believe they hold an advantage thanks to their strong relationship with Yildiz’s agent, Jorge Mendes.
Arsenal, however, are very much in the picture. The Gunners are described as being “firmly in contention” and have held direct talks with the player’s representatives. Mikel Arteta reportedly sees Yildiz’s technical quality, intelligence, and flexibility as a perfect match for his tactical system.
While Yildiz’s wage demands — believed to be around £5 million per year — fit comfortably within Chelsea’s performance-based salary structure, Juventus are expected to demand more than his £65 million Transfermarkt valuation to sanction a sale.
That potential price tag could work in Arsenal’s favor, especially with Chelsea appearing more cautious in the transfer market recently after pulling out of deals for players like Xavi Simons and Victor Osimhen.
